Abhishek Garg

Abhishek is a practicing lawyer in Delhi. He is the Managing Partner of AGS Legal. He is a commerce graduate from Shri Ram College of Commerce, Delhi University, a qualified Chartered Accountant and a law graduate from Campus Law Center, University of Delhi.

His wide range of experience includes working with with tier-1 law firms like Shardul Amarchand Mangaldas, Lakshmikumaran & Sridharan and Advaita Legal. This has carved out his niche in tax and corporate commercial laws. The major focus areas of his practice span across White Collar Crimes (PMLA, FEMA, Financial Frauds, Cyber Frauds etc.), Direct and Indirect Taxation laws (Customs, GST, Foreign Trade Policy etc.), Insolvency and Bankruptcy and General Corporate laws. These include investigation support, litigation as well as legal advisory services.

Recently, he has been actively involved in representing many companies in various white-collar crimes and investigations spanning across India before multiple authorities, including bailing out top executives from ED, EOW etc. He has also assisted various players from metal scrap trading and textile industry who were facing threats of arrest from GST authorities. During the phase of implementation of the biggest tax reform on the country, the GST Regime, he was actively involved in advising and training various MNCs and large Indian companies in implementation and smooth transitioning towards GST Regime.

He is a visiting faculty with ICAI and regularly delivers lectures on topics like taxation and various corporate laws.

He has co-authored a book, Taxmann’s GST Works Contract & Other Constructions – already sold more than 30000 copies and recently, the 8th edition of the same has been released.

He has been invited by various organisations for hosting seminars on taxation and allied commercial laws which is attended by eminent professionals like practicing Chartered Accountants and Lawyers. He is an executive member of Bhartiya Vitta Salahkar Samiti, Delhi.

He regularly appears before all quasi-judicial and judicial authorities like Tribunals (Directorate of Enforcement, Economic Offences Wing, DGGI, NCLT, CESTAT, ITAT), High Court and in Supreme Court of India.
